FM Logistic did the groundbreaking in Petresti
Even when the economic situation is in pessimistic terms, there are companies that can see further away from the current situation. They invest, they build strategically and they prepare for what will come.
FM Logistic did, in May, the groundbreaking for the construction of the warehouse in Petresti, the biggest investment in Dambovita. The official ceremony took place in the presence of the founder president of FM Logistic, Claude Faure, and of the general manager of FM Romania Catalin Olteanu-Heel and his team. Also, the mayor of Petresti, Lucian-Daniel Andrei and the prefect of Dambovita, Iancu Caracota, saluted FM's initiative.
The value of the investment the French company is planning for Petresti will totalize around 10-20 million EUR (according to the equipments) and will generate at first 200 new jobs. The first stage of the construction consists in 3 modules with a surface of around 20,000 sq m and it will be finished in January 2011. When the project will be finalized, it will have 20 modules with over 120,000 sq m. It will be the largest logistics platform in Romania made by a logistics provider.
An important player on the market
FM Logistic, one of the most important logistics players in the FMGC sector - foodstuff, general merchandise, retail, IT and vehicles, is present on the Romanian market since 2003, offering services of warehousing, manipulation, domestic and international transport, co-packing for Nestle, P&G (in Timis), Cora, L'Oreal, Yves Rocher, Sanofi Aventis (in Bucharest) and to other 70 important companies in Romania.
FM Logistic Romania had a turnover of 4.5 million EUR after the first year of activity and today, 6 years later, the value of the business increased to 18 million EUR, with over 600 employees. The warehousing and manipulation accounts for 55% of the turnover, the domestic transport - 40% and the co-packing activity - 5%. The first FM Logistic platform in Romania is situated in Dudestii Noi (Timis) and it has a total possible surface of 86,000 sq m. It provides services to Nestle since July 2008, including warehousing, manipulation, co-packing and distribution, on a surface of 14,000 sq m.
